'Technology Blog #3: Using Tools to Support Connected Learning and why it applies to my major'


 In chapter 5 of the Connected Educator the author uses the idea of digital tools to help enhance connected learning for everyone. This helps the overview and how the educators can leverage blogs, social media, and collaboration with different platforms. This is so they can all build personal learning networks and to help engage in professional development. Using the tools will help teachers share ideas and resources, reflecting on how they practice, and connecting with different experts and peers all over the world. Seeing the importance in the chapter of how to select the right tools to help support your learning goals while also trying to take care of the different collaborations while continuing to grow is also another important topic in the chapter.

Moving forward the chapter also highlights the different strategies that will effectively integrate the tools into teaching and learning for everyone. This discusses how to organize the digital resources and how to participate in online learning contributing to the knowledge-sharing communities. By using this tool different educators can use it to create a meaningful learning experience to help better both themselves and their students. This ultimately will help enhance the engagement and the collaboration in the classroom for a better outcome of the learning. 

Lastly connecting this to physical therapy it shows relations by emphasizing the importance of using the digital tools to help not only stay connected in learning but also help collaborations with other people in different fields to get a better outcome for the patient. Physical therapists can leverage online platforms as well to help stay updated on the latest research to keep their minds fresh which also will better their patient outcome. By building their personal learning network they can seek knowledge and advice from other experts to enhance the patients care with more evidence-based practices. In all, using these digital tools will help physical therapists better their education and connect with a bigger audience in the healthcare field
