Social Media Etiquette

VoiceThread-  https://voicethread.com/myvoice/thread/30649034 Greg Glassman was the founder and CEO of CrossFit in the year of 2020. In a tweet which stated, “Its Floyd-19” he made an insensitive and very offensive remark on the issues relating to the George Floyd and COVID-19 pandemic. The tweet had many people making and questioning him as a person. Due to all the backlash from people it caused him to have severed pathernships including reebok while also having gym directors cutting loose their deals with him as well. The biggest impact was he had to resign as CEO which caused his career to plummet. Seeing that we have been researching  how social media can impact good and bad sources using that information is big when thinking about the etiquette as well.  Defining social media etiquette is basically the practice of how to use good judgment and respect when dealing with professional circumstances when posting or interacting online. Making sure you are aware ...

Good/Bad Website Smackdown (Netflix vs. Peacock)

Video : https://youtu.be/9UzK_XPd4A4 The app Netflix is a good site and is user friendly. Netflix is a smooth streaming and is open to a wide variety of movies, TV shows, documentaries, and highly classified content with original programming. Netflix is free and ad free which is so much easier for the audience to sit back and enjoy their movies and shows. This app is well-developed and is making it easy to discover new movies and shows based on the preferences of your liking. Additionally, it allows users to use this app across multiple devices and streaming options of your liking. By doing this it allows different profiles and high-quality videos to appear on your screen to help create a seamless and enjoyable viewing experience.  The app Peacock is a bad site because it faces criticism for its very confusing subscription model. This app offers some popular NBC shows and movies which are very hard to navigate. This app can either be free or you can buy the premium and ad-supported...

Image
In this chapter the author describes the importance of developing a lifelong learning mindset to help increase the digital and connected world. Normal education focuses on memorization but in this chapter the connected educator must embrace the image of self-directed learning. What the author means by this is it actively seeks out the new knowledge while reflecting on the experiences to help adapt to change. The digital tools that are used while also looking at the online communities to provide a better learning experience for more growth and making sure it allows the educator to learn not only from themselves but from their peers to share insights and stay updated on the best practices.  Also in this chapter the author explores how personal learning networks can help support lifelong learning by keeping the collaboration and knowledge-sharing in mind to help students in the classroom. APP SMACKDOWN #2

APP LINK:   https://youtu.be/Fm7ltmeRnCI The app I will be using is Google Docs. Google Docs is a really nice tool when thinking about how it will enhance your college coursework. This app will not only allow you to have cloud-based storage so everything gets saved but its also has easy accessibility from any device. This app will automatically save all your work when your working to avoid having to redo and assessment. Going off of being able to save your work right away this app also allows you to share the document to others for group projects or anything you might need it for to share. Lastly the best part about this app is it is free and is compatible with many more file formats causing it to become easier and more flexible for students. Now moving onto how this app will help with my further career as a Physical Therapist there are many ways that it will. First it will help with documentation with different patients to help track there process better and to keep everyones docs...

'Technology Blog #3: Using Tools to Support Connected Learning and why it applies to my major'

Image
In chapter 5 of the Connected Educator the author uses the idea of digital tools to help enhance connected learning for everyone. This helps the overview and how the educators can leverage blogs, social media, and collaboration with different platforms. This is so they can all build personal learning networks and to help engage in professional developmen t. Using the tools will help teachers share ideas and resources, reflecting on how they practice, and connecting with different experts and peers all over the world. Seeing the importance in the chapter of how to select the right tools to help support your learning goals while also trying to take care of the different collaborations while continuing to grow is also another important topic in the chapter. Moving forward the chapter also highlights the different strategies that will effectively integrate the tools into teaching and learning for everyone. This discusses how to organize the digital resources and how to participate i...

APP SMACKDOWN

Image
The app Canva is a design tool app that is used to create different types of presentations or work for not only an educational purpose but a professional purpose too. This tool is a very good tool because there is a bunch of variety that you can choose from when creating your projects. Using Canva as a physical therapist will allow me to help network my own physical therapy business by using it to market my own brand like I had shown in my video. Canva is a very helpful app that allows you to create not only a flyer like I showed in my video but also presentations as well. Using a presentation as a physical therapist might sound a little weird at first but I feel it can be very beneficial from a patient stand point. Using a powerpoint presentation as an exercise plan for my patients could be a fun way of allowing them to fully understand how to do their exercises which will then increase their recovery time.  Seeing it from a different viewpoint like an app that might have nothing ...
