While reading The Connected Educator: Developing a Connected Learning Model, the ideas that the author brings to get the audience's attention is the idea of a connected educator which is described as someone who uses digital tools to help engage them in a professional learning environment. Connected educators focus on building personal learning networks. The networks are designed to make up online communities and peers to help their intended audience collaborate and stay updated on any practices or projects anyone has done. This will help the audience get a sense of direction to use the tools and resources that have been given to make a better outcome for themselves. Also in this chapter the tools that were talked about were blogs, and any online forums that are used to help stay connected to each other for more improvement.
